automatic tests, like Hera (http://www.sidar.org/hera/index.php.pt), W3C markup validation service (http://validator.w3.org/) and W3C CSS validation service (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator).
For manual tests I used firefox web developer tool and fangs extension, as well as opera browser and screen reader jaws for windows.
